Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) / Stem Cell Therapy
Regenerative Medicine is a new science that utilizes the power of stem cell with Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP. PRP is obtained from spinning a patient’s blood in a centrifuge at high speeds. This process isolates a concentrated serum of platelets. These platelets are then activated and re-injected into the body. Once injected in the body the platelets release growth factors which active stem cells, leading to healing of injured tissues and new tissue growth.
Medical Uses for Stem Cell Therapy
At Center for Advanced Medicine, we use stem cell therapies for the following:

PRP injections are commonly used to treat the following conditions:
- Osteoarthritis of the Knee
- Osteoarthritis of the Shoulder
- Rotator cuff tears
- Plantar Fasciitis
- ACL Injuries
- Tennis Elbow
- Ligament sprains
Studies show improvement in 80-85% of pain in most patients, with some patients experiencing complete relief of pain. Results generally last between 2-3 years!
How does PRP work?
When PRP is injected into the damaged area, it leads to a mild inflammatory process of the involved tendons, ligaments, and cartilage which triggers the healing process. As a result of this inflammation, new tissues begins to develop. The tissue that is developed can then function like new tissue, which leads to a reduction in symptoms.
The PRP procedure may eliminate the need for more invasive treatments, such as surgery!
Just like for PRP used for Pain Management, studies have shown that when platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is injected, stem cells multiply and grow newer, younger tissue. It is now also apparent that PRP can regenerate healthy erectile tissue as well.
We now offer and make available this breakthrough procedure to all of our patients who are candidates and may benefit. The entire procedure for processing the blood and injecting the growth factors takes less than 1 hour at our office, and there is no recovery time needed.
When PRP is injected for erectile dysfunction, the resulting rejuvenated and healthier tissue created is permanent!
The following is what patients are reporting after PRP Injections:
- Larger, firmer erections
- Reversal of atrophy within tissues (Increased Size)
- Correction of curvature
- Increase the effectively of other therapies (Viagra, Cialis, Levitra)
- Increase sensation and pleasure
Sexual dysfunction comes in multiple forms including:
- Vaginal dryness
- Painful intercourse
- Lack of sensation
- Inability to achieve orgasm
Research supports that 30-50% of women experience some sort of sexual dysfunction. It is now also apparent that PRP can regenerate healthy, functioning vaginal tissue as well. The entire procedure for processing the blood and injecting the growth factors takes less than 1 hour at our office and the resulting rejuvenated and healthier tissue created is permanent!
Although each woman’s experience with this procedure can be different, here’s a list of some of the things our patients have told us they experience after the a PRP Injection:
- Improvement in urinary incontinence
- Greater arousal from clitoral stimulation
- Younger, smoother skin of the vagina
- A tighter introitus (vaginal opening)
- Stronger and more frequent orgasms
- Increased sexual desire
- Decrease pain with intercourse
- Increased natural lubrication
